The CONCERT FOR A CURE - MUSICIANS UNITED AGAINST CANCER at Sportsman's Grille was a great success, and raised $1800.00 for the UVa Relay For Life.  It was a day of great music and shared purpose .  The open mic showcased some very talented players and singers, and the groups that played verified that we had some of the best bands in Wburg.
There were so many people that helped and played and donated that I would surely miss someone if I tried to make a list.  Special thanx go to Steve Genakos and the staff at Sportsmans Grill for helping us all day, Tim Duggan for running sound for all the groups, Tom Alba for photos, and Edd Beard for working the door/donations.  Mixed Bag was kind enough to come early & let other groups use amps, drums and keyboard.  I'll be posting photos.  Whenever you can, please go hear live music in Williamsburg, particularly the players and groups that played the benefit: Bagels and Fraylox Klezmer Band, In Layman Terms, Mark & Bev Mason, Dodge City Country Band, Joe's Day Off, Dog Street Rhythm Kings, Mixed Bag,
Robin Jester (Robin & the J-Birds), Playin' For Fun, Johnny Walker, Rob Crutchfield, "Paiman", Donna Culp, Troy Bodkins, Dave Ward, & Roger Furgurson.  Also thanx to the great harmonica trio from New Jersey (Garder State Harmonica Club) who started off the open mic in great fashion.  And thanx to the ladies from UVa who cut spring break short and came to work the door, take photos, & accept donations.
